It's reading week and we're having a week off to think and pray - between now and Easter we'll be continuing our weekly visiting of the staff at the uni - keepus and them in your prayers.

We have started visiting the campus this year and are involed in a few different projects - we recently went to visit Wrexham campus to check out their labyrinth, something we will be bringing to Chester in the new year.

West Cheshire

Pete has recently paid a visit to West Cheshire college in Chester where there is currently no chaplain. We are looking at how we meet work with West Cheshire in a chalplaincy role next term. Prayers for this would be appreciated.

Chaplaincy

For the past few weeks, Pete and i have been visting the staff around the campus saying hello, and offering a sympathetic ear to anyone who wishes. It has been great meeting the staff who have all been very welcoming.

Alpha

The Christian Union has just started up its alpha course on Campus - Emily has been helping out raising some cash and sorting out the food - pray for all those involved

What would Jesus say to Kerry Katona?

Today I was invited by the Christian Union to speak at a lunch club about what Jesus would say to Kerry Katona. A beautiful person with a sad life, I shared what God has to say to all of us in that situation...

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" Matt 11:28

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" - John 8:32

It was a real privelege to speak and then chat with people afterwards about their lives and questions. Pray for all those on campus who feel loneley.

Preach it

One of our students was asked by the Christian Union to speak at two lunch clubs this week. Students from the Christian Union invite other students from all across the campus to a free lunch at the Students' Union t which there is gospel talk. Emily spoke on faith to people who didn't know about what Jesus came for. Please hold these students up in prayer and all the students involved in the Christian union.

Freshers' Fair

To welcome the freshers our students went out on campus with a bear costume to greet and demonstrate God's compassion to people through offering a huge bear hug on behalf of his church. We gave out over 1000 flyers and over 200 hugs and tried to change perceptions of the church.

Plan A

A few month back a few of us went out to share our faith on campus - a few guys from India were amused at some of our antics and we started chatting. They asked me why if God were God would he need us to do his advertising for him. Then answer is quite simple - he doesn't. It's just that as any loving father can do stuff without his kids, he doesn't want to, he wants to involve us in what he does. We are God's plan A, there is no plan B.
